The sad thing after seeing the "girl" lego set and other "gilified" toys, I can see something like that for the black widow. Though obviously you took it a bit to an extreme. :P
Not that I have problems with pinks and purples, but it gets annoying when "market" testing declares that is only thing girls are interested in. Fortunately they can always buy "boy" toys to go with their "girl" toys.
