‘What am I doing here?’ Kuroba Kaito - alias Kaitou Kid - wondered. ‘I don’t even have a decent excuse if someone notices me.’ The wild-haired teen paced restlessly, debating with himself. ‘But Kudo wouldn’t have contacted me without reason. Even if the message was just *Kuroba, Meet me on the roof of the Mouri Detective Agency at 3:30. Kudo.* But why...’

The magician’s ponderings were interrupted by the sounds of light footsteps and the rush of wings.

“Kuroba?” Kudo Shinichi’s tone was filled with apprehension. “You here?”

‘Why’s he so nervous? Did Ran finally catch on?’ the thief speculated, stepping into his friend-opponent’s gaze. “Yo, Kudo. What’s.... Whoa..” Poker Face vanished for a moment as Kaito dimly heard the diminutive detective ask “Do you know how to keep these crows from stalking me?”

Regaining his mental footing, the taller teen quipped, “Wow, Kudo. There really is a murder everywhere you go!”
