“This,” Kuroba Kaito announced, “is the absolute LAST TIME I have a heist on Valentine’s Day.”

Hattori Heiji snickered. “What? You don’t want your fan club around to adore you anymore?”

“Apparently not when they’re throwing chocolates, no. Or rather, Hattori-kun, no one wants them around while they’re lobbing chocolates.” Hakuba commented, dryly.

The thief snorted. “Got it in one, tantei-san. There’s a thin line between adoration and stalking. Plus, I gotta hide these bruises tomorrow for school.”

“At least you didn’t almost get a concussion. I don’t think I want to know what was in the one that hit me,” Kudo Shinichi winced, fingering the lump slightly above the frames of his glasses.

The other three males wince in sympathy. Some members of the crowd had had exceptional pitches coupled with horrendous aim, and everyone was nursing at least one bruise.

The silence was rent by Hattori’s voice. “At least it wasn’t ‘Neechan or the other girls throwin’ the chocolate. We’d be dead!”

A round of laughter met this statement, as the four teens went their separate ways home. Each thinking of his special girl on this Valentine’s Day.
