Just an observation

The Floridian media has gone crazy over Fay.
Yeah, it's a big deal. All tropical depressions, tropical storms, and hurricanes are.
Still, let's put this into perspective. Fay is a tropical storm, not a hurricane. Not even a class one hurricane, the weakest type of hurricane. It doesn't look likely Fay'll ever be a hurricane. Which means as nasty as it is, Fay's unlikely to match Andrew, Charlie, or Ivan. And it's certainly not going to be as terrible as Katrina.
I hope the local media remembers that.

Date: 2008-08-20 06:58 pm (UTC)Although, tracking storms from the moment they form off the coast of Africa is a bit excessive. Yes, we need to know a hurricane's coming. But that's just overkill when the storm's well over a week away.
And, for the record, Fay was formed in the Caribbean.
(And I like the newest fic bit!)
