The ground shook with the impact of his body, sending even the bravest of the local wildlife fleeing in terror. The more timid - or intelligent - creatures have long since departed from the area devastated by the destructive alien machines.
"Give up, Prime?" snarled Megatron, looming over his fallen foe.
Optimus rumbled, growling from the very bottom of his vocal register. "Never!"
"Defiant to the end," the warlord purred, resting his cannon barrel on the armor protecting Optimus' spark. "Good."
Refusing to look away from his approaching death, the Prime watched, optics widening, as Megatron straddled his pelvic gimbal in a parody of intimacy.
"Remove it," the Decepticon ordered, tapping Prime's battle mask with one black finger. "Or I will, one way or another."
Optimus hesitated before retracting the mask, exposing his face to a hungry, red opticed stare.
Megatron's gaze swept Optimus' features, tracing every detail. "That's better," Megatron softly declared, leaning forward and sliding his hands up the red chassis beneath him to pin Prime's hands above the blue helm. "Much better."
"What are-" Optimus began before Megatron interrupted with a surprisingly gentle kiss.
Gaping for a moment as his shocked CPU tried to keep up, Optimus hesitantly returned the kiss.
"You, Optimus, are the only one I'd compromise my principals for. The only one I'd ever want to," murmured Megatron between kisses. "Do you feel the same, Prime?"
Optimus faltered for a moment, studying the silver mech above him. Finally, he relented. "No," he sighed. "But I believe that freedom is the right of all sentient beings. Even Decepticons," Optimus hurriedly added as Megatron pulled away, hurt in his optics. Freeing one hand from Megatron's grip, Prime stroked the back of the silver helmet, coaxing Megatron closer. "Thus, my principals are unaffected by this," murmured Optimus, nuzzling and kissing Megatron's face. "Perhaps you need to re-evaluate your principals?" A frown flicked across Optimus' face. "What principals are you compromising with this, anyway? Freedom through tyranny?"
Megatron snorted, but allowed Optimus to draw him back down. "Hardly. I wish for the destruction of the Towers' tyranny and all who embrace the corrupt pre-war system. And yet..." he mumbled against Optimus' lips. "And yet I find myself drawn to the very symbol of that system - you."
Glossa dueling in a heated kiss, Optimus clung to Megatron. His fingers dug into sensitive seams on the silver back as Prime tried silently to correct the Decepticon Lord's misconception of his origins.
Breaking the liplock to cycle air through his over-heating systems as Optimus bit harshly on neck and shoulder, Megatron panted, "For a Towers mech, you're more willing to be rough than I expected." He smiled, tilting his head to allow the Prime a larger target for his pleasurable assault. "I like it."
Optimus snorted, vents heaving. "I ain't no Towers' casher-mech, gettin' everythin' handed to 'em onna platter! I hadda work fer a livin'!"
"A docker?" gasped Megatron, letting out a strangled moan as Optimus nipped another sensitive spot on his neck. "How?"
A red shoulder shrugged. "'S a long story. Tell ya later?"
Megatron smiled, nuzzling Optimus' audio. "I'll agree to that only if you do exactly as I say for the rest of the night," he purred, "No hesitation or complaints."
"If this is a trick..."
Megatron shook his head. "No tricks, no deceit. Just you and I spending a very enjoyable, very interesting night together."
"All right," Optimus agreed, smiling, as he sealed their pact with a kiss.
"Good." Optics shining with happiness, Megatron rumbled as he claimed Optimus' lips, "Tonight, Prime, you're mine."

Date: 2009-05-19 01:42 am (UTC)In my head, Cybertronian has a slew of sub-set languages. Some are design based, like Crest, Flyer/Seeker, and Doorwing. Others, like Docker, Miner, and Towers, are a way to communicate under adverse conditions or only to other members of a group. Docker uses lots of easily heard words and highly visible gestures. Miner relies heavily on touch and cycling optics on and off. Towers... that has ritual symbolism upon symbolism for even the simplest thing, like how you hold a goblet of energon or attach a personal cooling unit to yourself.
i had to or i'd have been up all night. i'll probably do an expanded version or sequel of this after finishing the other drabble requests, though.

Date: 2009-05-19 02:39 am (UTC)For example, if two fliers are talking around a wingless mech, they'll limit their use of Flier to things that can be discerned through other means. This means using the movements for emotions and simple ideas. If the fliers were by themselves, the use of Flier would be much more complex and detailed, to the point where audible communication may not be necessary.
Cybertronians fliers and those with doorwings can understand the others' language. It's not perfect a understanding, however. A good comparison might be how a Spanish speaker can get the gist of Italian and vice versa, but may be tripped up by some pronunciations.
All of the design based "languages" can be learned and understood by "normal frames," but only Crest can not be "spoken" by someone of another design. There's no way to simulate the shifting of the multiple panels and segments of a crest by someone who doesn't have one. In contrast, arm movement can be used to "speak" Flier and Doorwing.
The design based languages are not uploaded into protoforms with those characteristics, they must be taught. Teaching the Arielbots the Flier language was the reason behind Skyfire, the Seekers, and the Arielbots meeting once a week for roughly a year. Both commanders knew what was going on and why, and both tacitly agreed to ignore it.
Tracks, despite being able to fly in his alt-mode, is not considered a flier because his robot form lacks wings. For a similar reason, Megatron and Soundwave are also not fliers.

Date: 2009-05-19 02:42 am (UTC)Is this in addition to regional 'accents,' or does your system not have those?
no subject
Date: 2009-05-19 03:36 am (UTC)Actually, regional accents show up in spoken Cybertronian. The design languages are closer to, oh, American Sign Language (AmSLang) or another sign language. Thus, it's pretty codified.
That said, there are signs/patterns/gestures that meaningless outside of certain areas. To give a real life example, Disney has created sign language signs for Mickey Mouse and other characters that aren't really a part of AmSLang or another sign language, but make sense while you're there or talking about your trip.
An example from the TFs would be Bluestreak's doorwings' movement when he refers to, even briefly, his hometown. He's using the local sign for its' name, but none of the other doorwinged mechs know that.

Date: 2009-05-19 06:58 pm (UTC)Towers is also big on symbolism and additional means of things and gestures. Take... oh, the language/meaning of flowers, add a slew of body language, and a dash of etiquette and ritual to create culture where every movement/gesture/object has some sort of meaning attached. That's Towers.
Of the Transformers on Earth, only five know it and four are fluent. (They are Megatron, Mirage, Sunstreaker, and Sideswipe. Optimus is the non-fluent one.)

Date: 2009-05-20 12:43 am (UTC)Touch messages are private, usually meant for no more than 6 mechs at a time. Not all miners are literate, thanks to education funds being diverted to "more important projects" by various shortsighted politicians. This has lead to the rise of a simple ideogram/code over the existing, more complex Cybertronian glyphs as the basis of Miner "touch talk".
Light messages are usually used for contacting a large group, like an entire shift or the whole mine. It's made up of simple patterns that can be endlessly repeated and only contains a limited number of words and ideas. (Mostly things like "Shift Change!", "Cave In!", "Danger!", "work crew", numbers, classifications of energon, and directions.
Cybertronian spoken by miners tends to reflect their poor education and contain regional accents from where they were raised.

Date: 2009-05-19 02:33 am (UTC)I had a virus or something that made my cursor stay behind the letter I just typed, rather than moving up with it, so I had to hit the left arrow after every letter or everything showed up backwards.
That was sheer, lovely, spectacularly hot perfection. I adore the romance (and generosity) of Megatron being willing to compromise his principles for Optimus, and admitting to it, rather than trying to just have Optimus' complete submission by trickery or force, as so many fics do. And suuuch an ending . . . I can just imagine what Megatron's beautifully twisted processor will come up with, and how Optimus will love obeying every single command.

Date: 2009-05-19 03:35 am (UTC)Thank you. I see Megatron being honest with himself - even if he's not honest with anyone else - and knowing Optimus well enough to know that Prime will understand and appreciate the gift of honesty. Optimus expects trickery from Megatron, so honesty will be a surprise and change of pace.
That said, I can't see Megatron being able to force Optimus - especially G1 Optimus - into full submission. At best, he'd be able to subdue Optimus enough to essentially rape him, which would kill any of Megatron's plans for another encounter. (And yes, Megatron in this story doesn't want this encounter between himself and Optimus to be a onetime thing.)
*grins* As I mentioned above, I'll probably do an expanded version or sequel to this after I finish the drabble requests.
