Part 4: Beaches
Note: Because of the BP oil spill, I am only mentioning beaches on the East Coast of Florida. These are not the only beaches in the state, just two of the best known.
Coco Beach: Coco Beach is located right next door to Cape Canaveral. In fact, you can get a wonderful view of one of the launch platforms from the Coco Beach Pier - a collection of shops and restaurants built on top of an actual pier. It's a wonderful place to just kick back and relax on the sand.
Daytona Beach: Probably best known for the Daytona 500, Daytona Beach has more to offer than just NASCAR races. The city also boasts museums, shopping, and historic sights, in addition to the beach. It's currently turtle season, so a visit to the Marine Science Center provides a chance learn more about these nighttime guests to the beach.
